"Masih-e-Mau'ud Day" - The Sacred Day of the Ahmadiyya Community

The day of March 23 holds a significant place in the history of the Ahmadiyya Community. On this day in 1889, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), founded the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with the guidance of Allah Almighty. On this day, 40 righteous individuals joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community by pledging their allegiance to The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and vowed to lead a holy life and stay away from all forms of evil.

Today, 134 years have passed since the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Community, which has spread to more than 200 countries around the world as a result of its peaceful teachings, and many people have joined this community in large numbers.

The founder of the Ahmadiyya Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib of Qadian (peace be upon him), gave the message of human compassion, brotherhood, and unity without any discrimination of religion, race, or ethnicity. On one occasion, he advised his followers by saying, "Our principle is to have compassion for all humanity. If a person sees that a Hindu neighbor's house is on fire and he does not come forward to help extinguish the fire, then I declare with certainty that he is not one of us. Similarly, if a person among our followers sees that a Christian is being killed and he does not come forward to help him, then I tell you with complete honesty that he is not one of us."
(Ruhani Khazain, Volume 12, Siraj-e-Muneer, page 28)

At another place, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) said, "I declare to all Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and Aryans that there is no enmity between me and them. I love all of mankind just as a compassionate mother loves her children, and even more so. I am only an enemy to false beliefs that shed the blood of truth. It is my duty to show compassion to humanity and my principle is to detest falsehood, polytheism, oppression, and every bad deed, injustice, and immoral behavior."
(Ruhani Khaza'in, Vol. 17, Arba'in, No. 1, p. 344)

In 1908, after the demise of The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community established a spiritual leadership system called "Khilafat". Presently, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper), the fifth caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is the community's global spiritual leader and guide. Under his direction, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is working in a number of fields, including the establishment of peace and service to humanity, prominently throughout the world, and drawing people's attention to their Creator with a special emphasis on spirituality.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a purely spiritual community and has no worldly benefit or interest, but rather it works selflessly for the betterment of the world and service to humanity. On the "Masih-e-Mau'ud Day", which is celebrated around the world by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community through various gatherings and activities for the welfare, prosperity and general well-being of people, members of the community also offer special prayers to God Almighty for the progress of their country and the establishment of peace and security around the world.
